In 2020, amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, I felt compelled to create a book club to provide students with an enriched learning experience. It was immensely gratifying to witness the positive impact and enjoyment it brought to the students. Recently, having completed a course in adult and family literacy at Spelman College, I've become aware of the literacy disparities affecting many Black and Brown students.

Therefore, I'm excited to announce that I will be hosting a summer book club! This book club will focus on fostering literacy skills for Black and Brown students with reading books that represent their cultures.
